Orison Books is pleased to announce that Justin Torres has selected “Mother Superior in Hell” by Katie Farris as the winner of The 2017 Orison Anthology Award in Fiction in a blind judging process. Farris’ story will be published in the 2018 volume of The Orison Anthology, and she will receive a cash award of $500.

ABOUT THE WINNER
Katie Farris is the author of boysgirls (Marick Press, 2011) and the forthcoming Intimacies (500 places, 2017). With Ilya Kaminsky and Valzhyna Mort she has co-translated several books of poetry from the French and Russian. Her translations and original work have appeared in anthologies published by Penguin and Graywolf, as well as literary journals including Virginia Quarterly Review, Verse, Western Humanities Review, and The Massachusetts Review. Currently, she is an Associate Professor at the MFA program at San Diego State University.
